SCULPTURE PRIZE

"Sculpture is the art of the intelligence." Pablo Picasso

We acknowledge the Bundjalung Nation as the Traditional Owners of the land on which we live and work. We honour the First Nations peoples’ culture and connection to land, sea and community. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.

Small Worlds is a curated exhibition of small-scale sculptures by Northern Rivers, Gold Coast and Scenic Rim artists, celebrating the region’s environment, materials, and local stories. There will be a prize of $2,500 for the winning artist and a $500 promotional package prize for the runner-up. Hosted at the M-Arts Precinct in Murwillumbah, the exhibition will showcase works that respond to place on an intimate scale while serving as a developmental platform for larger outdoor sculptures in future public art projects.

about us

The Trackways Sculpture Committee is dedicated to supporting, showcasing, and growing sculptural practice in our region. We foster opportunities for artists to experiment, collaborate, and bring local stories to life through sculptural form. By developing accessible exhibitions and public programs, we strengthen cultural connections, nurture creative careers, and enrich the broader community’s engagement with the arts and environment.

theme and concept

Based in the Tweed Shire, our mission is to build a dynamic platform where artists of all stages—emerging and established practitioners—can develop their skills, expand their visibility, and contribute meaningfully to the cultural identity of the Tweed and surrounding shires. We aim to support art that responds to the unique landscapes, ecosystems, and cultural histories of these regions with First Nations stories as the foundation.

Our intention is to ensure exhibitions are free to attend and accessible to diverse audiences and engage the local community through artist talks and workshops. We aim to develop regular events that attract visitors and contribute to the local economy and to collaborate with other arts, environmental and community organisations.
